Will’s Body Language, Amelia’s Language

Will is changing everyday, getting stronger and putting on the weight. We weighed him on the kitchen scale last night and it appears he’s about 11 pounds. Tripling his birth weight (about 24 lbs) by age one doesn’t look like it’ll be a problem. Today when his belly was full and I was burping him, he gently rested his chubby cheeks on his arm that was propped on my shoulder. If I was truly skilled with the camera, I probably could have captured it, but instead you’ll have to imagine how cute he was!

Amelia continues to amuse us daily with her verbal description of how she sees the world. She went to Shannon’s yesterday and when we were talking about her day she mentioned she watched the cartoon “Dora the Explorer”. I asked if Dora spoke Spanish (which she does) and Amelia responded by saying “No, she speaks regular.” Last night Dave was laying down with her during her bedtime routine and I heard her say “Dad, I love it when you snuggle me.” That’s what a dad needs to hear after a long day at the ‘office’. Lastly, Amelia has started to talk to all of us in a high pitched voice using the term “sweetie” when addressing any of us. Do you think this has to do with having an infant in the house now?
