Weekend on Lummi Island

We spent last weekend (May 29-31) on Lummi Island, just off the coast of Bellingham, WA. This was my birthday gift from Anne and Brian, and it was truly a restful, peaceful and lovely vacation. We stayed in a great house right on the beach that was a restored fishing cabin built in the 1950s. The house was wonderful and the views incredible. We slept with the windows open and could hear the waves, and the sunrise (when Will woke up) was incredible with Mt. Baker in the background. There was a blue heron that visited everyday, a bald eagle, deer and lots of baby crabs and sea anemones when the tide went out. The time away from day to day activities was much needed and appreciated.

Lindsay, talk about a fantastic spot for a weekend getaway– I really liked the photo of the second floor sitting area. You couldn’t have chosen a better weekend—fantastic weather. I hope all is well. We should be having a Coop meeting in King County later this month. It would be neat if you, Amelia and Will could stop by. I’ll send you a note when the date is set. ~Troy
